There will be a nine-hour power interruption in some parts of Bacolod and Bago cities on Saturday, November 26, Ervin Stan Leo Ticar, Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) acting general manager, announced on Tuesday.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) will shut down its Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV transmission line affecting CENECO’s Sum-ag and Hilangban substations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, he said.
CENECO will take advantage of this downtime to conduct simultaneous maintenance activities, Ticar added.
He said CENECO will conduct ride-on preventive maintenance work at its 10MVA Sum-ag substation and 10MVA Hilangban substation for safety and reliability, replace three-phase primary rotten poles for safety and reliability of feeder lines, and tree clearing activities.

When electricity supply resumes, provide an allowance of about 10 to 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid a power surge, he added.
