64-year-old man stabbed to death in Isabela, 2 suspects sought

A 64-year-old laborer was killed after he was allegedly attacked and stabbed by two men in Brgy. Maytubig, Isabela, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday afternoon, June 16.

The victim, a resident of the barangay, sustained a stab wound to the chest and two stab wounds on his back.

Police identified the suspects as alias “Perot” and alias “Jay-R,” both residents of Isabela who remain at large.

The victim was on his way to fetch his cow from a farm when he encountered the suspects along the road at around 3 p.m., investigation by the Isabela police showed.

The suspects had allegedly come from a drinking session at their aunt’s house before the incident.

Police said one of the suspects suddenly punched the victim, while the other kicked him, causing him to fall to the ground.

Authorities said one of the suspects then allegedly took the victim’s talibong and repeatedly stabbed him.

The victim was rushed to the Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital but was declared dead by the attending physician.

The suspects fled after the incident.

Police have launched a hot pursuit operation to locate and arrest the two suspects.

Investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the attack.*
