
The 414 Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office personnel tested negative for the use of illegal drugs, the NOCPPO reported on Wednesday, Jan .15.
They underwent drug tests conducted by the Negros Occidental-Provincial Forensic Unit at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr., Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, on Dec. 9 and Jan. 7.
They tested negative for use of Methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), Marijuana, and other illicit substances, the NOCPPO reported.
The mandatory drug testing of uniformed and non-uniformed personnel in all police units in Western Visayas was ordered by BGen. Jack Wanky, Police Regional Office-6 director.
The testing was conducted to ensure the integrity of the PNP’s campaign against illegal drugs and to make sure that the ranks of the police force are free from the use of illicit substances, NOCPPO’s press release also said.
The personnel assigned to the intelligence section conducting anti-illegal drugs operations are subjected to monthly drug tests, it added.*
