4,000 Bacolod JO workers get pay hikes, Albee says

The salaries of about 4,000 Bacolod City government job order workers have been increased effective January, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said on Sunday, February 11.

Their salaries were increased from P450 to P480 a day, or P9,900 to P10,560 a month, he said.

He said the majority of the JO workers have been paid for January.

The payment of the salaries of one-fourth of the JO workers for January was delayed because Friday, February 9, was a holiday, he said.

Meanwhile, the mayor said they are now targeting the completion of 20 housing buildings instead of only four at the Arao relocation site in Barangay Vista Alegre for inauguration by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. before his State of the Nation Address in July.

They are targeting the completion of more buildings for better impact, Benitez said.*
