Four police officers in Negros were recognized for their exemplary service during the flag-raising ceremony at the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region headquarters in Bacolod City on Monday, Sept. 8.
PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, conferred the Medalya ng Kadakilaan on PLt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca and PCpl. Benjie Buatag for a successful buy-bust operation on May 28 in Brgy. Lantad, Silay City.
The operation led to the arrest of a drug personality and the seizure of 109.115 grams of suspected shabu worth P700,982.
The Medalya ng Kagalingan was awarded to PCpt. Rasalino Pugoy Jr. and PSsg. Serge Ballesteros for a manhunt operation on June 9 in Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.
The operation resulted in the arrest of the region’s No. 9 Most Wanted Person for lascivious conduct under Republic Act 7610.
PRO-NIR said the awards highlight the dedication of police personnel in the campaign against illegal drugs and in pursuing wanted persons to ensure peace and order in the region.*
