Four persons were killed after they figured in an accident at the national highway in Barangay Miranda, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, Thursday afternoon, September 9.
Killed was tricycle driver Simeon Noblezada, 62, and his passengers, Meldy Capillo, Dena Espinosa, and 19-year-old Kent Tolido.
The victims, onboard a tricycle, succumbed to multiple injuries and died on the spot, a police report showed.
Maj. Jake Barila, town police chief, said pickup driver Christopher Antiqueno, 50, of Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City, hit the tricycle when he was about to overtake another vehicle.
The impact caused both vehicles to fall into the canal.
The pickup driver, who is detained at the police station, and his passenger sustained minor injuries.*
