
The Department of Health reported 360 new dengue cases in Western Visayas, with 65 from Negros Occidental and Bacolod City.
There were 360 new cases from June 16 to 22, which adds to the 4,030 cases in the region this year, the DOH reported.
The dengue cases are 25 percent higher compared to the same period last year, which were at 3,213.
Of the 360 new cases, DOH-6 recorded 1 death and 39 percent of patients were aged 1 to 10 years old.
This record is by far the highest recorded cases in a week in Western Visayas, the DOH said.
Negros Occidental had 58 new cases, while Bacolod City had 7, the DOH said.
Meanwhile, Aklan had 53 new cases, Antique – 29, Capiz – 31, Guimaras – 47, Iloilo Province – 115, and Iloilo City – 20.*
