Three workers drowned in the 5th District of Negros Occidental on Wednesday, July 10.
Two 19-year-old construction workers, Andrew Cordero of Talisay City and Yantor Yanson of Bacolod City, drowned in a river in Sitio Dumpsite, Brgy. Buenavista, Himamaylan City.
The two were taking a bath in the river when Yanson saw Cordero asking for help as he was drowning.
They both were carried by strong current and drowned, the police said.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old laborer, whose name was withheld by the police, drowned in the Binalbagan River in Sitio Napiluan, Brgy. Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla.
The victim had joined a drinking session and left for home alone on Tuesday night.
He was found dead beside a riverbank by his companions the next day.*
