2 drug suspects arrested, P353,600 in suspected shabu seized in Bacolod

Two suspected street-level drug personalities were arrested while about P353,600 worth of suspected shabu was seized in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City early Monday, Aug. 10.

The Bacolod City Police Office said the operations conducted by Police Stations 1 and 2 resulted in the confiscation of a combined 52 grams of suspected shabu.

The first operation was conducted by Police Station 2, with support from the City Drug Enforcement Unit, at around 1:16 a.m. in Purok Rose, Brgy. 9.

Police arrested a 34-year-old man classified as a street-level individual who was not listed by the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

Authorities recovered about 26 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street drug price of P176,800, along with the buy-bust item and marked money.

Around 22 minutes later, personnel of Police Station 1 conducted another buy-bust operation in Purok Malinong, Brgy. 39.

A 28-year-old man, also classified as a street-level individual and not listed by BADAC, was arrested during the operation.

Police recovered another 26 grams of suspected shabu valued at P176,800, as well as marked money and cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions.

Both suspects are facing charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

BCPO Director Col. Eugene Rebadomia commended the operating units and said the city police will continue intelligence-driven operations against illegal drugs while ensuring compliance with legal procedures and respect for individual rights.*
