A woman was killed while five others were injured after they figured in a vehicular accident at the national highway of Brgy. San Juan, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, Thursday, December 2.
Killed was tricycle passenger Joselyn Madalag, 40, of Brgy. Tagda.
Based on the police report, the driver of the canter truck, identified as Nolito Montebon, 42, of Brgy. 14, Bacolod City, lost control of the vehicle after one of the tires blew up.
The wayward truck then hit the incoming tricycle driven by 34-year-old Rogin de los Pobres.
The impact of the crash caused the tricycle to land on a steel fence while the truck hit a steel gate of a residence beside the road.
Both drivers and their passengers were brought to a hospital in La Carlota City, where Madalag was declared dead on arrival.
The vehicles are in the custody of the police.*
