A 39-year-old woman was arrested after police seized suspected shabu, two firearms, and ammunition during the implementation of a search warrant in Brgy. Poblacion 6, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental, on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The suspect, identified as alias “Bev,” is a resident of the same barangay and was allegedly involved in illegal drug distribution in the city, the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said.
The operation was conducted by personnel of the Tanjay City Police Station at around 5:05 a.m. following reports from a confidential informant about the suspect’s alleged illegal drug activities.
Police said surveillance and monitoring led investigators to secure a court-issued search warrant against the suspect.
During the search, authorities recovered five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a .45-caliber firearm, a .22 Magnum revolver, several rounds of ammunition, firearm magazines, and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was brought to the Tanjay City Police Station for documentation and further investigation.
