The Commission on Elections in Negros Occidental, in partnership with the Negros Occidental provincial government, conducted a Voter’s Education and Automated Counting Machine (ACM) demonstration for the Lin-ay sang Negros 2025 candidates at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol Building in Bacolod City on Saturday, Marh 8.
The interactive session, in celebration of Women’s Month, empowered candidates with essential electoral knowledge, reinforcing their advocacy for social responsibility, Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee M. Ananoria said.
The event also served as meaningful prelude to the Panaad sa Negros Festival and COMELEC’s 85th Anniversary celebration.
Ananoria delivered an opening message, while Election Officer and NIR Regional Election Lawyer Claudine Joyce L. Ballesteros led the Voter’s Education and ACM demonstration.
“The candidates were engaged with the session and are now ready to conduct voter education in their communities. This initiative not only equipped them with the necessary tools and knowledge to educate their communities but also highlighted the importance of active participation in the electoral process,” a Comelec statement said.
“By understanding the intricacies of the voting system and the operation of the ACM, the candidates can now confidently share this information with their constituents, ensuring a more informed and engaged electorate,” it added.*
