
The six crew members of a Landing Craft Tank that sank in the waters between Romblon and Sibuyan Island were safely rescued on Monday, June 30, reports from Philippine Coast Guard-Southern Tagalog said.
The vessel had taken off from the Guihulngan Port in Negros Oriental.
The six crew members of LCT San Juan Bautista were rescued by Fishing Vessel Skip Jack Cri 03 , the PCG Sub-station Cadiz City in Negros Occidental reported.
The vessel bound for drydocking in Navotas City, Metro Manila, was carrying 2,500 liters of marine diesel oil.
An aerial surveillance was conducted on Tuesday, to locate the wreckage and detect any signs of pollution, and their observations confirmed that the sea remains clear, the PCG said.*
