The barangay captain of Sum-ag in Bacolod City on Friday, August 2, urged the 140 vendors who recently transferred into the new Sum-ag Public Market to maintain its cleanliness and treat it as their second home.
Brgy. Capt. Rodney Carmona told DIGICAST NEGROS that the 140 vendors finally transferred inside the market with eight stalls remaining outside selling meat.
“They must maintain cleanliness and ensure that they treat their new area as their second home”, Carmona said.
The vendors that transferred are selling vegetables, dry goods, and fish, while the remaining meat vendors outside will be moved in when the meat section of the market is finished.
Carmona said that the city government and the Department of Public Works and Highways are still sourcing a budget to finish the market.
An estimated P8 to 10 million is needed to finish the infrastructure and to cater to more vendors, he said.*
