A man drowned in an irrigation canal in Sitio Pang-pang, Brgy. Alijis, Valladolid, Negros Occidental, on Thursday, Dec. 26.
Alias “Ronel”, 37, of Brgy. Alijis fell in the irrigation canal while on his way home, the police said.
He joined a drinking spree at the house of a friend in the evening of Dec. 25 and later left to go home.
The next day his live-in partner asked neighbors to help look for him as he failed to return home.
The victim was found lifeless underwater in the irrigation canal by his nephew.
The victim drowned, there was no foul play noted, the police reported.*
