The United Architects of the Philippines – Bacolod Azucar Chapter recently marked its second anniversary with the launching of a creative digital magazine to highlight chapter business and activities, a press release from the group said.

The magazine, titled “Azucarero,” will also serve as an analytical and artistic medium for the members’ professional and creative views, and an innovative and essential voice for the profession of architecture, chapter president Rolem Basiya said.

The themes will range from mundane to more consequential human interests, which will emphasize architecture, the architect, and the public in general, he added. Azucarero will be debuting in the digital space next month.

Bacolod Azucar is the youngest chapter of UAP Regional District C2 with Rafael Tan as founding president. It currently boasts of a roster of 36 architects and has since developed into a solid group with worthwhile ventures under its belt, including the creation of Azucares, a charitable arm that aims to provide assistance to colleagues and members in need.

The chapter’s social responsibility project was launched last year when the architects celebrated their first anniversary. The project commits to a “member first” policy, the press release also said.*
