A truck driver was shot to death by an unidentified suspect in front of his house in Sitio Mambalayong, Brgy. Mahalang, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, Thursday, June 27.
The victim was identified as Basilio Gemarangan, 47.
The police said the truck driver and his wife were about to sleep when they heard their dog barking.
The driver went out to see what was happening and his wife suddenly heard several gunshots.
When she went outside she saw her husband lying on the ground with gunshot wounds on his chest and left hand.
The victim was brought to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital but was declared dead, while the suspect escaped.*
