A tropical-themed concert to help local animal rescuers is being held at a local bar in Bacolod City, this afternoon, Mat 21, until sunrise.

The event entitled “Solar Fest: A Tropical Sunset Party” is the first-ever afternoon concert at Lunar Art Cafe and Bar located along Lacson Street, Bacolod City and it aims to help the volunteers of Community Animal Rescue Efforts (CARE) Inc. that rescues stray and abused cats and dogs.

The event has been organized by the Lunar and non-government organization JCI-Bacolod Chapter.

JCI-Bacolod Director for Individual Development Ezekiel Bayoneta said that the event aims to help the rescued animals with their medical needs, grooming, and for finding them new owners.

“One of the organization’s pillars is community development that also emphasizes animal rights aside from humanitarian services,” he told DIGICAST NEGROS.

The concert features the “Dilaw” band that sang “Uhaw”, the current number-one hit song in the Philippines on the online music streaming apps, Spotify and Apple.

Dilaw is a full indie rock collective composed of lead singer Dilaw Obero, guitarist-instrumentalist Vie Dela Rosa, bassist Wayne Dela Rosa, guitarist Leon Karlos, keyboardist En Altomonte, and drummer Tobi Samson.

Together with Dilaw are Iloilo-based “Kreonz Band”, and Bacolod-based “City and Town”, “Max and Ash”, and “Mondae Cleaners” and various local DJs. Performances from Drag artists will also highlight the event.

During the event, there will also be “Piso shots” where drinks can be sold for only P1, and free HIV testing from Bagani Community Center.

Tickets are available at Lunar Bar and their official Facebook page.*
