Three candidates for councilor of Bacolod City under the ticket of Vice Mayor ElCid Familiaran filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) before the Commission on Elections on Saturday, Rep. Stephen Paduano (Abang Lingkod Partylist) said on Sunday, Oct. 6.
The three are barangay captains Jose Maria Leandro De Leon of Vista Alegre and Yolanda Noble of Pahanocoy, and Kagawad Ernesto Yap Jr. of Barangay 32.
Paduano said Familiaran will either run for mayor of congressman of Bacolod City.
Familiaran will keep his commitment not to run against Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelarde Benitez, Paduano said.
They definitely will support Benitez for whatever position he runs for, he added.
So if Benitez runs for congressman he will run for mayor, he said.
Paduano did not say when Familiaran will file his COC.
Familiaran’s team will also support some councilor candidates of Asenso Bacolod and field a vice mayor candidate, Paduano said.
The Familiaran team will not fill up its slots for its councilor team, he said.*
