Thieves stole P472,553 worth of vehicle batteries and motor oil from the warehouse at the Negros Occidental Provincial Engineer’s Office motorpool at Magsaysay Street in Bacolod City.
Arnel Argusar, General Services Office head, on Tuesday, Dec. 5, said they conducted an inventory of the contents of the warehouse in the last week of October, and discovered the theft.
The perimeter fence of the motorpool area is the back wall of the warehouse.
The thieves made a hole in the perimeter fence by passing through a house behind it, Argusar said.
The police help was sought and five of the 23 stolen batteries were retrieved in Barangay Pahanocoy, he said.
He said they have a suspect who revealed where the batteries were located.*
