A mall, which was ransacked in March, was again robbed, this time by persons who dug a tunnel to enter the establishment in Brgy. Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Monday night, Aug. 19.
San Carlos Police Operations Officer, Cpt. Honey Labaro, told DIGICAST NEGROS that cash, phones, and jewelry were among the items stolen from various establishments in the mall.
The police were still conducting an inventory to determine the total amount of items stolen, Labaro said.
The mall was robbed at about 11:55 p.m. of Aug. 19 and mall workers discovered the incident the next day when they were about to open the mall, she said.
On March 30 the Gaisano Mall was also ransacked by unidentified suspect who carted away about P450,600 in cash and goods.
The robbers had gained entry through the air conditioning duct of the mall, the police had said.*
