An 18-year-old driver died after his motorcycle hit a parked truck at the highway in Barangay Patun-an in Calatrava, Negros Occidental, on Monday, November 21.
Killed was Christian Arrelano, while his rider, 20-year-old Larry Delima, was injured.
The police said the victims were on their way to Calatrava proper, but when they passed through the curved part of the road the motorcycle hit a parked truck.
The truck broke down and an early warning device was placed on the road, the police said.
The police said the motorcycle driver was under the influence of alcohol and was speeding, so it is possible that he did not see the parked truck, as the area was dark at the time.*
