Teacher killed, 2 riders injured in Binalbagan motorcycle collision

A female teacher was killed while two motorcycle riders were injured in a vehicular accident at the national highway in Brgy. Marina, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, on Sunday night, Jan. 18.

The police identified the fatality as alias “Inday,” 26, a teacher at La Consolacion College and a resident of Brgy. 4, Isabela, Negros Occidental.

Investigation showed that Inday was the passenger of a blue Rusi 125 motorcycle driven by alias “Josh,” 26, of Brgy. 1, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, who sustained injuries in the crash.

The other motorcycle involved was a black Kawasaki Rouser 135 driven by alias “AJ,” 50, of Brgy. Bato, Hinigaran who was also injured.

The Binalbagan police said the accident happened at around 9:59 p.m. when the Rusi motorcycle was traveling from Binalbagan toward Hinigaran, while the Kawasaki motorcycle was heading in the opposite direction.

On reaching the area, police said the Kawasaki motorcycle allegedly crossed the road without taking precautionary measures, resulting in a collision with the oncoming Rusi motorcycle.

Both drivers and the passenger sustained head and body injuries and were rushed by Binalbagan LDRRMO personnel to the Binalbagan Infirmary.

Inday was declared dead after resuscitation attempts by the attending physician, while the two drivers are undergoing medical treatment.*
