
Youth group Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute Inc. (NYLI) is mounting a campaign to raise funds to aid flood victims in Victorias, Silay, and Talisay cities.
Thousands of residents were affected by the flooding in the cities of Victorias, Talisay, and Silay cities and EB Magalona town.
“It is our desire to respond as quickly as we can to help Negrosanons cope with the disaster,” Kevin Gaitan, executive director of NYLI said.
“On January 2, we have distributed the first 100 relief packs to flood victims in Victorias City with the help of the SK Council in Barangay 1,” he added.
Tatap Negrosanon, NYLI’s campaign aims to pool P650,000 to provide basic relief items to at least 2,000 families.
“We believe that through our contributions, and shared goals, we will able to respond to the most pressing needs of the flood victims, especially the children and youth who are most vulnerable in times of disasters,” Gaitan said.
NYLI targets to compliment relief efforts with the setting up of a child-friendly space and a small debriefing session for children.
NYLI is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Social Welfare and Development as a community-based social welfare agency.
