
Floods hit two barangays in Talisay City this morning, February 8, causing 285 residents to evacuate, City Social Welfare and Development Officer Dionela Madrona said.
She said 62 families with 165 members from Barangay Dos Hermanas and 30 families with 120 members from Barangay Zone 8 evacuated.
The affected families were provided food packs and hot meals by the Talisay City government, Madrona said.
Talisay had also been hit by floods on January 8.
In Victorias City , water overflowed from the Malogo River, affecting one sitio in Barangay 21 but no evacuation took place, Mayor Frederick Palanca said.
The rains over Negros Occidental have been triggered by a Low Pressure Area, Zeaphard Caelian, Provincial Disaster Management Program Division chief, said.*
