A 59-year-old carpenter died after he was mauled during a birthday celebration in Sitio Mabucanao, Brgy. Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, February 7.
The Talisaynon from Cabatangan, whose name was withheld by the police, was allegedly beaten by a 19-year-old man during the birthday celebration of the victim’s nephew at a game farm in the area at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 6.
The suspect went home after the incident while the victim slept at the game farm.
Early morning of the next day the victim’s live-in partner found him lifeless with an injury on his left eye and chin.
His partner tried to wake him up and brought him to the Talisay City Health Office but he was declared dead on arrival.
The suspect was arrested and is now under the custody of the Talisay City police.*
