Talisay launches new slogan, beefs up security measures

Talisay Mayor Rowena  Lizares announced on Wednesday,  that her city has launched a new  slogan  – “TaliSay Yes!” .

The slogan means Talisaynon’s can do anything as long as  they are united and do their best, Lizares said in her speech at the 26th  Minulu-an Festival lunch at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

She said the staging of this year’s Minulu-an Festival has been very successful.

The Minulu-an Festival continues to inspire pride and cooperation among us all, she said.

“From a humble barrio once known as Minulu-an, Talisay has become a dynamic and thriving city, filled with promise and bustling with development,” she said.

Lizares said Talisay is  “The City of Modern Heritage”, where history breathes and innovation thrives.

In an interview, she said with Talisay growing and more roads leading to the city security is also being beefed up.

Lizares said she has asked the city’s chief of  police to tighten security with  more checkpoints.

Three police substations using container vans are also being set up to increase police visibility, Lizares said.

More street lights and farm to marker roads will also be constructed, she said.

She said her family is also finalizing the deed of donation for a 1 hectare property in Zone 12-A  for the Talisay City hospital.*
