A one-year-old baby girl died after she was hit by a stray bullet in her home at Barangay Caduhaan in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental Sunday, December 5.Police said a firearm was allegedly fired indiscriminately by forest ranger Nomar Ayan Berto, 46, who surrendered to the authorities Tuesday, December 7.The baby was playing in her bed when the stray bullet passed through their wall and hit her in the head.Police are still locating the firearm used by the suspect, who will be charged for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.*

San Carlos PIO photoThe San Carlos City government in Negros Occidental is granting incentives to fully vaccinated vendors at its main public market.San Carlos Mayor Renato Gustilo in Executive Order 248, Series of 2021 said the city government will wave rental fees of stalls and spaces of fully vaccinated vendors at the Jose V. Valmayor Jr. Public Market this December.It will also impose a one month deduction in the computation of the calendar year 2021 annual income of the vendors on the renewal of their business permits, he added.“It is just but proper that they be given incentives for following the city government's proactive measures to ensure the safety of its people during the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.*
