A one-year-old baby girl died after she was hit by a stray bullet in her home at Barangay Caduhaan in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental Sunday, December 5.Police said a firearm was allegedly fired indiscriminately by forest ranger Nomar Ayan Berto, 46, who surrendered to the authorities Tuesday, December 7.The baby was playing in her bed when the stray bullet passed through their wall and hit her in the head.Police are still locating the firearm used by the suspect, who will be charged for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.*

Negros Occidental and Bacolod City now have 1,946,639 registered voters for the 2022 polls, Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said Tuesday, December 7.This is an increase of 57,439 voters from the 1,889,200 in the May 2019 national elections.He said voters who failed to vote in two previous elections, died, or transferred were purged from the list.In the new voters' list, Bacolod City has 327,403 voters, or an increase by 14,587 from 312,816 in 2019.The following are the number of voters in the six districts of Negros Occidental:
