Eugenio Jose Lacson said Monday, October 25. The ambulances will form part of the Negros Occidental 911 Quick Response Service to be stationed in four or five provincial government-run hospitals, he said. This brings the total COVID-19 deaths in Negros Occidental to 1,272 since the start of the pandemic last year from 1,208 on Monday, the report showed. The PIMT also reported that Negros Occidental’s active COVID-19 cases dropped to 3,460 on Tuesday from 3,638 on Monday. Negros Occidental had recorded 374 COVID-19 deaths in October, the highest in a single month since the COVID-19 pandemic started, Provincial Administrator Rayfrado Diaz said Monday. A total of 111 illegal “open pipe” motorcycle mufflers were destroyed at the Silay Plaza Covered Court on Friday, October 22. The series of confiscations are in line with the continued implementation of Silay City Ordinance No. 2, Series of 2012 to prevent noise pollution, Mayor Mark Golez said. Golez and PLt. Col. Robert L. Petate, Silay police chief, led the ceremonial destruction of the motorcycle mufflers.
