
Police have launched a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly fired a gun in Talisay City, Negros Occidental ,late Monday night, July 20.
The Talisay police said the incident happened at around 11:40 p.m. in Hacienda Socorro, Brgy. Matab-ang.
Police said a concerned citizen reported hearing gunfire, prompting officers to respond.
Police investigation showed that a 55-year-old resident was repairing his house when he allegedly heard four successive gunshots from a nearby area.
The witness told the police that he went outside and saw the suspect, identified only as alias “John,” walking along the road while allegedly carrying a firearm.
When confronted, the suspect allegedly abandoned the firearm and fled in an unknown direction before the police arrived.
Responding officers recovered an Armscor .45 caliber pistol, two magazines, and three live rounds of ammunition from the scene.
Police are conducting follow-up operations to locate the suspect and determine the circumstances surrounding the reported illegal discharge of a firearm.*
