
A 24-year-old construction worker was found dead after he was believed to have been electrocuted by an electrified perimeter fence in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Monday, July 20.
The Kabankalan police said the incident happened at around 3 a.m. in Sitio Lupni, Brgy. Hilamonan.
Police said they received a report at around 7 a.m. from a barangay official on the discovery of a body in the area.
Police investigation showed that residents heard a noise outside their house at around 3 a.m. When they checked the area, they found the victim lying motionless near an electrified perimeter fence.
Authorities said the victim was believed to have accidentally come into contact with the fence, resulting in his electrocution.
The victim was later identified by his father.
A barangay health worker confirmed that the victim had no vital signs.
The body was brought to a funeral home for post-mortem examination as police continue their investigation. *
