Artist Suklin Chang Peña opened her third one-woman exhibition at the Ayala North Point Clubhouse in Talisay City Saturday evening, March 8.

The exhibit entitled “Flower Power”, which features 30 watercolor paintings, will run until April 14.

Peña said her paintings feature flowers because they always bring joy.

“They add color, give a pleasant scent and symbolize happiness. They are resilient and thrive in various climates. They are God’s gift to mankind,” she said.

Dorcas Brion, the visionary behind Bibong Pinay, cut the ribbon at the opening of the exhibit.

Bibong Pinay,  a movement that empowers women – especially mothers and wives – to thrive in life, marriage, and business with authenticity, humor and faith, has been one of Peña’s inspirations.

Peña, who is a mother of five boys, said she started  watercolor painting in 2016 and was taught by master watercolorists.

She   received an award   from the Women in Watercolor in America  in 2022 for one of her  abstracts,  joined the Malaysia online juried exhibit for Florals, Animals and Portraits for several years and   international watercolor festivals in Fabriano and Urbino, Italy.

Her “Flower Power”   exhibit opening was attended by  her husband Bonifacio Pena, artists, classmates, and friends.*
