A tourism student died while her companion was injured when their motorcycle collided with a prime mover truck at the intersection of the Bacolod-Silay Airport Road in Brgy. Bagtic, Silay City, Negros Occidental, on Friday, Jan. 17.
Alias “Carol”, a BS Tourism student and resident of Hacienda Riverside, Brgy. San Isidro, E.B. Magalona, died and “Joe”, 21, the motorcycle driver and a resident of Brgy. Hawaiian, Silay City, was injured, the police reported.
The driver of the prime mover truck was identified only as alias “Celso”, 55, of Brgy. Balintawak, Escalante City.
Police investigation revealed that the motorcycle came from the Bacolod Silay Airport, while the truck from E.B. Magalona was headed for Bacolod City when they accidentally collided at the intersection.
The victims were brought to a hospital but Carol was declared dead on arrival.
Celso is now under police custody.*
