“Hopefully investors will feel more confident in investing in Negros Occidental knowing there is peace and order in the province.”

That was the reaction of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson on Wednesday, March 6, to the Negros Occidental Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Committee’s (JPSCC) signing of a joint resolution recommending the declaration of the province of Negros Occidental in a state of “Stable Internal Peace and Security”.

The JPSCC  composed of the  302nd and 303rd Infantry Brigades, Negros Occidental Philippine National Police and the Philippine Coast Guard, approved and signed the recommendation on Friday, March 1, Lt. Col. J-Jay Javines, 3rd infantry Division spokesman, said.

The recommendation will then be submitted to the Provincial Peace and Order Council and the governor for approval, he added.

“This collective triumph against the communist terrorist group in the Visayas Region is coming sooner than expected after the last remaining guerilla front in Negros was declared as dismantled,” Javines said.

Lacson said the provincial government has always been wanting to reach

“Stable Internal Peace and Security”.

He noted that the Philippine Army has already dismantled the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army fronts and government that they had set up in Negros Occidental.*
