The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod approved the appointment of Dr. Lucille Gelvolea as the new city administrator during its regular session Wednesday, January 10.
The SP also welcomed Christian Nagaynay as the OIC-city director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Gelvolea, former Negros Occidental Economic Enterprise Development Department head, said the challenge given to her by Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez is to implement all the programs identified by the city officials under the executive-legislative agenda.
The aim is to come up with tangible outputs for the good of Bacolodnons based on the vision of making Bacolod a super city with a diverse economy and good infrastructure for better living standards and quality of life, she said.
Meanwhile, Nagaynay takes over as Bacolod DILG head from Ma. Joy Marideth Madayag who has retired.
The SP passed a resolution welcoming him to his post and congratulating Madayag on her retirement.*
