The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod on Wednesday, Nov. 15, granted Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez authority to sign a contract agreement for the construction of a P514.6 million legislative building behind the Bacolod City Government Center, Councilor Em Ang said.
The contract will be between Bacolod City represented by Benitez and Legacy Construction Corp./M.KU president Alex Abelido.
Legacy Construction Corp. had earlier won the bid to construct the legislative building.
The contractor shall begin mobilization within 10 days from receipt of the notice to proceed from the city, and should complete the project in 840 days, the contract states.
Meanwhile, Danna Marie Cuaycong Barzo, the new Bacolod Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president, joined the SP regular session for the first time on Wednesday.*
