The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City approved a resolution urging the city administrator to release fuel subsidies to 863 tricycle drivers during its regular session on Wednesday, January 24, Councilor Em Ang said.
Ang, in her resolution, urged the office of the City Administrator to reconsider the disqualification of these tricycle drivers from receiving fuel subsidy under the City Ordinance No. 1003.
The C.O. 1003, which was passed Aug. 17, 2022, provided fuel subsidies to tricycle drivers and operators who were affected by the unprecedented increase in gasoline prices in the country.
Ang filed the resolution after the 863 tricycle drivers appealed for reconsideration after they were disqualified.
“Considering that all requirements have been complied with at the time of application and upon evaluation of the BPOLO, their documents are valid and in order, it is just right that the fuel subsidy due to these tricycle drivers be released to the qualified beneficiaries without further delay”, the resolution said.*
