Prices of pork in Negros Occidental are expected to slightly increase in December, Ric Lauron, president of the Alliance of Hog Raisers Association of Negros Occidental (AHRANO), said on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
Pork in Bacolod City markets currently cost between P330 to P350 a kilo, he said.
Lauron said by December the price of pork may be from P360 to P370 per kilo.
This is due to the expected increase in demand during the holidays, he said.
But he stressed that there is sufficient supply of pork in Negros Occidental.
Negros Occidental also supplies pork to other areas such as Luzon.
Lauron said for now they are not encouraging the sale of pigs to other regions and neighboring islands.*
