
Six persons were injured in a hacking incident involving two suspects in La Castellana, Negros Occidental, on Sunday night, April 19.
Police identified the victims as alias “Elya,” 60, alias “Rommie,” 18, alias “Rik,” 36, and alias “Landong,” 64, all residents of Sitio Dulaca, Brgy. Sag-ang.
The suspects, alias “Henry,” 50, and his son alias “Lian,” 24, who are also residents of the same area, sustained injuries during the incident.
Initial investigation by the La Castellana Municipal Police Station showed that a heated argument broke out between one of the victims and the younger suspect involving disturbances in their residence.
The situation escalated into a commotion after the suspect punched the victim, who was initially pacified.
Police said the older suspect later emerged from their house armed with a bladed weapon and attacked two of the victims, inflicting hack wounds.
Two other victims who attempted to intervene were also injured during the incident.
Despite sustaining injuries, one of the victims managed to subdue the suspect during the struggle.
All injured individuals were brought to the Rural Health Unit of La Castellana and later referred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment.
The bladed weapon used in the incident was turned over to police by a barangay tanod.*
