Site of new PAC still uncertain: guv

The new Negros Occidental Provincial Administration Center will have to be built in Bacolod City as originally planned if the winning contractor refuses to have the project rebidded, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Monday, January 17.

Lacson wants the new PAC built in Talisay City to create a new growth area, but the Government Procurement Policy Board said if it is built at another site a new bidding will have to be conducted.

Dynamic Builders and Construction Co. won the bid to build the new PAC in Bacolod City in 2018 during the term of then Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr.

Lacson said he still has to ask Dynamic Builders if it is agreeable to a rebidding in order for the new PAC to be built in Talisay City.

Dynamic Builders could take legal action against the provincial government if it disregards its contract to build the PAC in Bacolod, Lacson said.

If the contractor does not agree to a rebidding the provincial government will have no choice but to build the PAC in Bacolod, he said.*
