
Macy Alaine Albarico of Brgy. Singcang-Airport was crowned Miss Bacolod MassKara 2026, besting 14 other candidates at the STI West Negros University Gymnasium in Bacolod City on Sunday night, Oct. 11.
Albarico received P150,000 in cash, while first runner-up Julie Mikayla A. Borja of Brgy. Mansilingan earned P100,000, and second runner-up is Ma. Zonora Ellyssa Curaza of Brgy. Sum-ag received P50,000.
Kyla C. Aligaga of Barangay Pahanocoy and Daniella Louisse B. Merelos of Barangay 32 completed the Top 5.
During the final question-and-answer round, the finalists were asked what first decision they would make for Bacolod if crowned.
Albarico called for greater opportunities for every Bacolodnon, drawing on her own experiences of having doors closed to her. She emphasized that everyone deserves a chance to succeed.
Borja advocated opportunities for older people to participate in community activities and the city’s development.
Curaza, who publicly identified herself as a lesbian and a member of the LGBTQ+ community during her answer, highlighted the talents and voices of Bacolodnons and encouraged people to act on opportunities.
Aligaga focused on cultural preservation and sustainable tourism, while Merelos emphasized the queen’s role in giving people reasons to smile.
Albarico also received the Miss Congeniality award.
Borja led the minor award winners with four titles: Darling of Social Media, Best in Talent, Best in Festival Costume, and Best in Evening Gown.
Aaron Spencer Marin won Best in Festival Costume Designer for Borja’s costume, while Reina Caspe received Best in Evening Gown Designer for the creation worn by Margarette Ymballa of Brgy. Taculing.
Curaza won Miss Photogenic, Aligaga earned Best in Production Number, and Lourdeth G. Codico of Brgy. Bata took Best in Swimwear.
Curaza also led the first two sets of special awards with 12, followed by Krizza May L. Fernando of Brgy. Cabug with six and Merelos with five.
The coronation night opened with a dollhouse-inspired production number as supporters cheered for their barangay representatives.
The swimsuit segment featured Bacolod’s sweets and delicacies, while the evening gowns by local designers paid homage to the design and architecture of the Bacolod City Public Plaza.*
