Banks in Bacolod City are encouraged to shorten their daily operations following the surge of coronavirus cases.
The Bankers’ Club of Negros Occidental Inc., in a board resolution signed on March 30, pointed out that the Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center reported a sudden spike and continued rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the city since March 24.
The resolution was unanimously signed by all members of the board led by its president Arthur Golez Jr of EastWest Banking Corp.
“In view of the precarious situation brought about by the continued rise of COVID-19 positive cases in Bacolod City, the Bankers’ Club of Negros Occidental Inc. through its Board of Directors, encourages its member banks to shorten their banking hours from 9 am to 2 pm effective March 30 until April 15,” the resolution said.
A copy of the resolution will also be furnished to Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas (BSP) Bacolod branch and its member banks.*
