An 86-year-old man died after he was hit by a light-duty truck while crossing the national highway in Brgy. Anibong, Ayungon, Negros Oriental, 7 p.m. Monday, May 26.
The senior citizen, whose name was withheld by the police, was a resident of Sitio Lodgoron in Brgy. Anibong.
The victim was slowly crossing the national highway when he was hit by an Isuzu NLR77 driven by a 36-year-old male resident of Brgy. Zone 15, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, the police said.
The impact threw the victim about 12 meters away causing serious injuries to his head.
The victim was brought to Bindoy District Hospital where he was declared dead.*
