Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued Executive Order No. 3, Series of 2021 Tuesday night, February 9, granting permission to sell, serve and consume liquor and alcoholic beverages in some establishments, aside from private residents, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Bacolod City.
Leonardia said based on data from the Emergency Operations Center, Bacolod is experiencing a flattening of the COVID-19 curve that may enable the gradual relaxing of some stringent prohibitions.
There is a need to find a balance between health and the economy, he said.
In line with this, the sale, serving and consumption of liquor and alcoholic beverages will be allowed from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in hotels, restaurants and other similar dine-in establishments only, his EO states.
Considering that the COVID-19 threat remains, all employees and customers of such establishments must observe minimum health protocols, which include the use of the Bacolod Contact Tracing (BaCTrac) system, wearing of face masks and shields, hand hygiene, physical distancing and venue capacity in accordance with the National Inter-Agency Task Force (NIATF) guidelines, he said.
Beerhouses, night clubs, karaoke bars, and any establishment whose primary business is the selling and serving of liquor or alcoholic drinks are still prohibited from doing so under NIATF Resolution No 56, Series of 2020, which was adopted in EO No. 3, Series of 2021.*
