A Sagaynon who drowned in a river at Purok Tambis, Brgy. Bulanon, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, was found early Thursday morning, Dec. 5.
Vicente Bitala, 55, of Purok Tambis drowned while he was fishing.
Investigation revealed that on Wednesday the victim went fishing alone and did not return home.
His wife sought help from the authorities to find her husband.
The victim was brought to the Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital where he was declared dead.
The victim may have suffered from a stroke while fishing that caused his drowning, the police said.
The victim previously had a mild stroke and had been taking maintenance medicine.*
