The Rotary Club of Makati recently awarded five scholarships at the Colegio de Sta Ana de Victorias in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
In a celebration of Rotary fellowship, April Kitagawa, president of the Rotary Club of Bacolod Marapara, welcomed the members of sister club, the Rotary Club of Makati North, at a special dinner during their visit to Bacolod City.
The Makati delegation, headed by club president Tito Meneses, visited Negros to award the five scholarships, a press release from the Rotary Club of Bacolod Marapara said.
These scholarships, sponsored by past president Gus Lagman and his wife Tess, form part of the club’s broader scholarship initiative.
The program underscores Rotary’s steadfast commitment to empowering youth and expanding access to education, the press release said.
During their stay, the visitors also joined in the festive spirit of Bacolod’s MassKara Festival, enjoying the city’s signature celebration of joy and resilience.

The dinner served not only as a gesture of hospitality, but also as a reaffirmation of the enduring bond between the two clubs – united by shared values of service, friendship and cultural exchange, the press release said.*
