Task Force Spaghetti Wires resumed its removal of eyesore power and telecommunication lines from utility poles in Bacolod City on Tuesday, Oct . 29,
The task force was conducting clearing operations at Lacson-Lizares streets, Councilor Pao Sy said.
She said they would proceed to the downtown area where there are still a lot of “spaghetti wires”.
PLDT, DITO, Sky Cable, Globe and Converge teams were part of the task force removing the wires.
Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said on Tuesday that while the above ground eyesores were being removed underground cabling is in the works.
“We are just finalizing the design,” he said.
The underground cabling this time will include the Negros Electric Power Corp, he said.
The initial underground cabling will be along 1 kilometer stretch of Lacson Street, Benitez said.
“Lacson Street will be the showcase,” he said.
He said underground cabling would not only remove eyesores but would prevent the destruction of power and telecommunication lines during storms and other climate disturbances that disrupt services, and pilferage.*
