A Chinese national listed as the Regional Top Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 4-A (Calabarzon) was arrested in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, on Friday evening, July 17.
The suspect, identified only as alias “Xi,” 34, a former Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) employee, was arrested at around 7:25 p.m. in Brgy. Looc by virtue of a warrant of arrest for robbery under Article 294, Paragraph 5 of the Revised Penal Code.
The operation was conducted by personnel of the Dumaguete City Police Station in coordination with the Anti-Carnapping Section and Regional Intelligence Division of the National Capital Region Police Office, Bacoor City Police Station, the Regional Intelligence Division–Regional Special Operations Unit 4A, and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission Task Force.
Police said the suspect was informed of the nature of the charges against her and apprised of her constitutional rights following her arrest.
She is currently under the custody of the Dumaguete City Police Station pending her turnover to the issuing court and the completion of the required legal procedures.
PRO-Negros Island Region Director BGen. Romano V. Cardiño said the arrest highlights the importance of intelligence sharing and close coordination among law enforcement agencies in tracking down wanted persons.
He said PRO-NIR will continue to support intelligence-driven manhunt operations and strengthen partnerships with police units nationwide to bring fugitives before the courts.
