The Negros Occidental Provincial Veterinary Office is reminding livestock owners to take proper care of their animals during the rainy season.
Dr. Ryan Janoya, PVO Animal Health and Meat Inspection head, said on Friday, August 29, that animals should be given proper shelter so that they do not get wet in the rain and get sick.
If the weather is cold, make sure they have protection, he said.
Recent heavy rains have caused the death of farm animals, he said.
In the 4th District of Negros Occidental, which includes Bago City, La Carlota City and Pontevedra, chickens, ducks and goats have died Janoya said.
He placed the value of the dead animals at more than P10,000.*
